AEVEX has secured production orders worth a total of $88.1 million to supply long-range precision strike capabilities to US government customers.
The customers and specific systems involved were not specified.
Meanwhile, AEVEX CEO Roger Wells described how the company’s “long-range precision strike product portfolio is built from real‑world mission experience and proven success in the contested environments of modern warfare.”
Among the California defense technology firm’s long-range precision strike offerings is the Disruptor Group 3 platform, which has over 14 hours of endurance and a range exceeding 1,400 kilometers (870 miles).
The Disruptor falls within the Pentagon’s Group 3 classification for drones, which includes systems weighing less than 1,320 pounds (599 kilograms), flying up to 18,000 feet (5,486 meters), and reaching speeds of up to 250 knots (463 kilometers/288 miles per hour).
AEVEX in US Air Force
The US Air Force has awarded AEVEX several contracts to deliver autonomous defense capabilities.
In May, the service awarded AEVEX an $18.5-million contract for a tactical Group 3 uncrewed aerial system designed for one-way attack missions, as well as a separate $15.6-million contract supporting autonomous aircraft missions and airborne system integration.
The defense firm also clinched another $50-million US Air Force contract to advance uncrewed mission support capabilities.
