USAF Awards AEVEX $50M for Uncrewed Mission Support Capabilities
The US Air Force (USAF) has awarded California-based AEVEX a $50-million contract to advance uncrewed mission support capabilities.
A total of $27 million in initial funding has been awarded at the outset to support the company’s production of a modular and expeditionary platform capable of long-range precision strikes in contested and GPS-denied environments.
The system is envisioned to have a high payload capacity, enable seamless payload integration for diverse mission requirements, and feature rapid reconfiguration.
Work will be performed across AEVEX’s facilities within the US.

Headquartered in Solana Beach, California, AEVEX is a defense technology company specializing in airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance solutions and advanced autonomous uncrewed systems.
It produces the Atlas Precision Strike System, which the US Army selected in October 2025 for its initial Launched Effects–Short Range fielding.
In May 2026, the California company secured USAF contracts to supply a tactical one-way attack drone and provide support services for autonomous aircraft missions and airborne system integration efforts.
