Anduril’s Ohio Arsenal-1 Produces First YFQ-44A Drone for US CCA Program
Anduril’s Ohio-based Arsenal-1 defense manufacturing facility has produced its first YFQ-44A Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) for the US Air Force less than two years after the site was established.
The milestone marks the company’s first product to roll off the production line at the 5-million-square-foot (464,515-square-meter) campus in Pickaway County, where construction began in January 2025.
Anduril plans to expand the site to full scale by 2035, adding manufacturing, warehouse, and support facilities in phases to keep pace with production demand.
Although the firm did not disclose Arsenal-1’s planned annual production output, the facility has the capacity to produce up to 150 YFQ-44As per year, according to Breaking Defense.
Apart from the CCA, Anduril said additional production programs are expected to move to the Ohio site, including Barracuda missiles.
Speedy Development
Anduril has highlighted speed as a defining feature of both the YFQ-44A program and Arsenal-1’s development.
The YFQ-44A Fury is one of the two drone prototypes, alongside General Atomics’ YFQ-42A Dark Merlin, which the air force selected in April 2024 to compete in the CCA program’s first increment.
Fury completed the critical design review in November 2024, conducted ground tests in May 2025, and made its first flight in October 2025.
This year, the CCA underwent testing with airmen from the Experimental Operations Unit in April, followed by a live-fire test involving an AIM-120 missile in July.
