Sigma Advanced Systems has acquired UK-based Bromford Precision Solutions in a move to expand its subsidiary Nasmyth’s manufacturing capabilities.
The deal is valued at approximately 11.89 million pounds ($16 million) and is expected to close by the end of July. Through the acquisition, Bromford will operate alongside Nasmyth within Sigma Advanced Systems’ UK manufacturing network.
The transaction broadens Nasmyth’s capabilities in complex aero engine structures, precision machining, and critical engine components while increasing production capacity and engineering expertise across its aerospace and defense operations.
Bromford Precision Solutions manufactures aero engine rings, compressor casings, ducts, brackets, and lock plates for the aerospace and power generation industries.
“We look forward to building on Bromford’s engineering heritage while continuing to invest in advanced manufacturing technologies and supporting our customers’ future programs,” Sigma CEO Sunil Kalidindi said.
Consolidating Air Defense Industry
The Sigma-Bromford transaction follows a broader trend of mergers and acquisitions across the aerospace and defense sector as companies seek to strengthen manufacturing capacity and expand technology portfolios.
In June, Norway’s Kongsberg completed its acquisition of California-based Zone 5 Technologies, adding low-cost, mass-produced missile capabilities to its portfolio of air defense and strike systems.
During the same month, Australia’s Electro Optic Systems finalized its purchase of MARSS’ defense business to strengthen its integrated counter-drone offerings.
Earlier, in April, Finland’s Sensofusion acquired aircraft manufacturer Atol Aviation, broadening its capabilities from ground-based counter-drone systems to airborne surveillance.
