Lockheed Martin Adds Sentrycs Cyber-RF Tech to Sanctum C-UAS Platform

Lockheed Martin is adding a new cyber-based layer to its Sanctum counter-drone platform, integrating Sentrycs’ Cyber-over-RF technology to give operators the ability to seize control of hostile drones rather than jam or destroy them.

The collaboration, announced by Sentrycs’ parent company Ondas Holdings, will incorporate the Israeli firm’s radio frequency-based technology into Sanctum, Lockheed Martin’s modular C-UAS architecture designed to protect military installations, critical infrastructure, and other high-value assets from unmanned aerial threats.

How Cyber-Over-RF Works Within Sanctum

Sanctum is designed as an open architecture that combines sensors, command-and-control software, artificial intelligence, and multiple countermeasure options to detect, track, and respond to drones, including coordinated swarm attacks.

Under the agreement, Sentrycs’ Cyber-over-RF capability will serve as an additional detection and mitigation layer within the platform.

Operating at the communications protocol level, the technology allows operators to identify compatible drones, assume control of them, and direct them to land. 

Because it does not emit broad-spectrum interference, the system is intended to minimize disruption to nearby communications and other electronic systems.

Financial terms of the collaboration were not disclosed, and neither company indicated when the integrated capability is expected to become operational.

Lockheed Martin said the integration expands the range of sensing and response options available within the Sanctum architecture, while Ondas said the partnership reflects increasing demand for layered counter-drone systems.
