UAE defense group EDGE has launched a new European subsidiary in France as it seeks to deepen its industrial footprint and partnerships across the continent.
The Abu Dhabi-based company announced the creation of EDGE Europe, a French-registered business headquartered in Paris with an additional engineering and manufacturing hub in Bordeaux.
EDGE said the Paris office will focus on government relations, partnerships, investment opportunities, and regional business development, while the Bordeaux facility will support engineering, system integration, and manufacturing activities.
The new subsidiary is intended to accelerate collaboration with European defense companies, research institutions, and governments while expanding local industrial capacity. The company plans to recruit engineers and other skilled personnel in Europe as part of the initiative.
EDGE Chairman Faisal Al Bannai said the company intends to invest in European talent and industrial partnerships rather than operate solely as an exporter of defense products.
“Choosing Paris for the headquarters of EDGE Europe is a deliberate mark of that bond, and we are determined to forge partnerships of the same strength right across the continent,” he said.
EDGE Deepens Ties With Europe
The launch of EDGE Europe builds on a series of acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures the company has pursued across Europe in recent years.
In February, the company announced a collaboration with France’s Safran Electronics & Defense to develop, produce, and market next-generation smart weapons.
Earlier, in January, EDGE partnered with Spain’s Indra Group to establish a defense manufacturing venture focused on loitering munitions and smart weapons.
That followed a December 2025 technology transfer agreement with EM&E Group to produce the Ferox 6×6 armored vehicle in Spain.
