US Firm Qorvo Compresses Radar Power Into Tiny Module

North Carolina-based tech firm Qorvo is working to solve one of modern radar’s persistent challenges: increasing range and detection performance while reducing thermal strain and system complexity. 

The company has introduced the QPF5012, a fully integrated X-band transmitter/receiver module operating from 8.5 to 10.5 gigahertz with 10 watts of transmit power.

Built for phased-array and multi-function radar systems, the device reportedly delivers 42 percent power-added efficiency and ultra-low distortion for target tracking.
