Allen Control Systems (ACS) has raised $200 million in fresh funding as demand grows for systems designed to counter the expanding threat posed by drones.
The Texas-based defense technology company announced a Series B funding round that now values the firm at $2.2 billion.
This capital will be used to expand manufacturing capacity, accelerate deployment of its Bullfrog autonomous weapon station, and support the development of additional products.
The Bullfrog is designed to counter unmanned aerial threats using artificial intelligence, computer vision, and precision robotics. It can be paired with existing weapons such as the M240 machine gun and is intended to engage drones up to the Group 3 classification.
It is already deployed with the US Army and US Navy and has received contracts through Joint Interagency Task Force 401 and allied military customers, according to the company.
During the US Department of Defense counter-drone testing event, Technology Readiness Experiment 2026, the platform reportedly achieved a hundred percent success rate.
The funding round was led by Smash Capital and included participation from existing investors such as Craft Ventures, Rally Ventures, Inspired Capital, Litquidity, and Forum Ventures.
“Domestic critical infrastructure remains vulnerable to the threat posed by commercially available drones,” Smash Capital Founder Kevin Mayer said. “ACS has built an efficient, adaptable solution that’s perfectly tailored to meet this pressing national security challenge.”
Defense Startups Draw Major Investment
ACS joins a growing list of defense technology firms that have secured large funding rounds as investors pour money into autonomous systems, counter-drone technologies, and advanced military platforms.
In June, Sweden’s Front Ventures AB invested 1.5 million euros ($1.7 million) in Polish-Ukrainian radar developer Molfar Defence Technologies to advance systems for detecting small drones and other low-altitude threats.
Earlier, in May, Australia’s Arkeus raised 25 million Australian dollars ($18 million) in Series A funding to scale its AI-enabled perception technology for autonomous defense platforms.
In January, US startup Diffraqtion secured $4.2 million in pre-seed funding to develop quantum-enabled imaging satellites aimed at improving space situational awareness and high-resolution orbital imaging.
