Rangeview has secured a US Navy contract to produce cast replacement parts for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) programs.
The award is part of the Department of Defense’s Defense Industrial Base Expansion, Development, and Growth Enterprise initiative.
It is funded through the Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment program, which aims to strengthen domestic defense manufacturing.
The company said the contract will help expand US foundry capacity for replacement parts used across navy programs, supporting maintenance and fleet readiness.
Tool-Free Manufacturing
To produce the components, Rangeview will combine traditional investment casting with a software-driven manufacturing process that replaces conventional tooling with digital design files.
The company said conventional foundries rely on custom dies and molds that must be designed, manufactured, and qualified before production can begin, a process that can take months.
Delays can become more pronounced when replacement parts are needed for older vessels whose original tooling is no longer available.
Rangeview said its digital process can reduce the time from design to first article from months to weeks for US Navy MRO programs.
Recent Defense Work
The award follows another defense contract announced by Rangeview days earlier to develop cast superalloy components for advanced turbine engine programs with Kratos Defense & Security Solutions.
Under that agreement, the California-based company will manufacture flight-quality components for next-generation engines using the same digital casting approach, which it said will accelerate development while producing complex superalloy parts.
