BlueBird Tech is hiring more than 30 engineers and technical specialists as Ukraine’s growing defense industry faces a shortage of skilled personnel needed to expand weapons production.
The Ukrainian defense technology company said it has launched a large-scale recruitment campaign to fill engineering and support roles as demand for domestically produced defense systems continues to rise.
Most of the openings are for technical positions, including unmanned systems engineers, drone design engineers, antenna systems engineers, circuit design engineers, navigation and algorithm specialists, and a head of detection systems.
BlueBird Tech is also recruiting electronics assembly technicians, financial managers, and other personnel needed to scale production. It is seeking both experienced professionals and Ukrainian specialists currently living abroad.
“Today, the greatest value is engineers who can rapidly adapt to the challenges of the frontline and develop new solutions,” the company said. “They are the ones who transform ideas into technologies that save the lives of both military personnel and civilians.”
Ukraine Addresses Defense Workforce Shortages
Ukraine has launched several initiatives over the past two years to expand the workforce supporting its growing defense industry.
In 2025, the Ministry of Education and Science signed an agreement with FRU Defence to strengthen innovation and workforce development for the defense industrial complex.
The agreement supports applied research, technology transfer, and cooperation between universities and the defense industry to develop specialists for the high-tech sector.
The government also introduced a mechanism in 2024 allowing defense manufacturers to reserve key employees from military mobilization, helping companies retain engineers, technicians, and production workers considered essential to maintaining weapons output.
