US Eases AI Chip Exports to UAE After Backing Iran Ops

The US has loosened certain export controls on the UAE, allowing designated government agencies and companies to import advanced AI chips, servers, and other sensitive technologies without individual export licenses.

The move comes after the Gulf state supported US military operations in Iran and follows years of lobbying by Emirati officials for broader access to American AI technology, The Wall Street Journareported.

Under the updated Export Administration Regulations, the UAE was reclassified as a more trusted US partner, expanding its access to dual-use and advanced computing technologies.
