L3Harris Technologies has received multiple orders worth $84 million to provide additional manpack radios for the US Army.
The deal supports the force’s ongoing Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) initiative, which modernizes existing mission systems and digitizes protocols to establish an enhanced decision-making network between leaders and warfighters.
The package consists of the company’s in-house Falcon AN/PRC-158C software-defined gateway manpack device, designed for secure connectivity across different waveforms and environments.
AN/PRC-158C comes in a lightweight box with a two-channel receiver capable of 30 to 2,500 megahertz of frequency range for beyond-line-of-sight data transfer.
Washington’s acquisition builds on an initial $24-million order in October 2025, which positioned the Falcon radio as a critical part of the NGC2’s communication backbone to apply seamless relay of voice and data across shooters, sensors, and battle management platforms.
