Rheinmetall has secured another contract to supply 155mm artillery ammunition for Ukraine as Kyiv seeks to replenish stocks for its long-range fire missions.
The German defense company said a NATO member state had ordered several thousand 155mm artillery shells and propellant charges for delivery to Ukraine under a deal valued in the mid double-digit millions of euros.
Under the order, Rheinmetall Expal Munitions in Spain will manufacture the ER02A1 B/B projectiles, while Rheinmetall subsidiary Nitrochemie will provide the DM72 modular propellant charges.
Production has already begun, with deliveries scheduled for completion before April 2027.
Rheinmetall’s Support for Ukraine
The latest ammunition order adds to a growing list of Rheinmetall deliveries for Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion.
In July, Kyiv awarded the German firm a contract to supply long-range 155mm artillery ammunition under an order valued in the high double-digit millions of euros.
It follows earlier agreements in 2025. In June 2025, the Netherlands ordered 20 Rheinmetall-made Ermine manned and unmanned ground vehicles for Ukraine, while in January the same year, Ukraine commissioned the company to deliver 180,000 rounds of 35mm HEI-T ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft system under German funding.
