US Army IBCS Demos Interoperability With IFPC, LTAMDS in 34th Flight Test

The US Army’s Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) has successfully demonstrated interoperability with diverse effectors and sensors during its 34th missile flight test and 44th intercept. 

Northrop Grumman announced this month that the IBCS successfully integrated with the Indirect Fire Protection Capability (IFPC) and the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) radar during the live-fire exercises conducted in April at the White Sands Missile Range.

“This 34th consecutive successful missile flight test highlights IBCS’ consistent ability to enable coordination and decision-making across varied integrated systems,” said Northrop Grumman VP and General Manager of Command and Control and Weapons Integration, Kenn Todorov.

Developed by Northrop Grumman, the IBCS links and coordinates air and missile defense assets into a unified network, allowing rapid engagement of dynamic threats.

A cornerstone in the army’s modernized integrated air and missile defense strategy, the IBCS is operational with the US Combatant Commands in Europe and the Indo-Pacific, as well as with the Polish Armed Forces

IFPC 

The IFPC is a mobile, ground-based weapon system designed to engage a range of threats, including drones, cruise missiles, and rocket, artillery, and mortar attacks.

During the recent demonstration, the IBCS integrated with the IFPC while connecting with the Sentinel A4 radar to track targets.

In a 2024 trial, the IBCS integrated with the IFPC to detect, identify, and neutralize two surrogate drones and a representative cruise missile threat.

LTAMDS

Developed by Raytheon for the US Army to replace its aging Patriot radar, the LTAMDS is a ground-based, active electronically scanned array radar that delivers full 360-degree surveillance and tracking.

It transitioned to low-rate production in April 2025

Like the IFPC, the LTAMDS has been integrated with the IBCS in several demonstrations, including executing a series of firsts in a 2025 missile flight test.
