Canadian company INKAS is expanding its manufacturing and production capabilities with three new facilities across North America, slated to fully operate by the end of July.
The armored vehicle maker and systems integration specialist leased an additional, approximately 42,000-square-foot (3,901-square-meter) site in Toronto, Canada, along with two other facilities located in the US.
These include a 200,000-square-foot (18,581-square-meter) armored vehicle production facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a 31,000-square-foot (2,880-square-meter) first-time facility in Fort Pierce, Florida.
According to INKAS, the Charlotte site has access to an experienced armored vehicle manufacturing workforce, allowing the company to scale operations more quickly.
The facilities are expected to more than double the company’s production space and meet the growing demand for its armored, tactical, uncrewed, and special-purpose solutions.
“We are strengthening our ability to support customers with reliable, scalable, and mission-ready security and defense solutions. This investment reflects our confidence in the long-term demand for advanced protected mobility, unmanned systems, and specialized platforms,” said company CEO David Khazanski.
Venturing Into Defense
For nearly three decades, INKAS has mainly focused on supplying products to law enforcement and private financial institutions.
However, it has ventured into the defense sector by supplying drones to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion in 2022, according to BNN Bloomberg, citing The Canadian Press.
By 2023, the Canadian company had established manufacturing facilities and an armored vehicle showroom in Kyiv.
During the CANSEC 2026 defense and security technology trade show in May, the company showcased two platforms designed to support multi-domain missions: a modular light tactical vehicle and an artificial intelligence-powered drone interceptor.
