Estonian defense firm Vegvisir has secured venture funding from Iron Wolf Capital to accelerate the development of software to support the command and control of manned and unmanned military systems across multiple operational domains.
The investment will fund further development of the platform and support deployments with government and commercial customers across NATO countries.
Designed to operate across equipment from multiple manufacturers, the software enables operators to manage diverse assets through a common interface.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We invest where technology meets an irreversible shift in how the world operates,” said Kasparas Jurgelionis, managing partner at Iron Wolf Capital.
“The transition to multi-domain unmanned operations demands a software-native solution that no existing player has adequately built.”
According to Vegvisir, the investment comes as European militaries accelerate efforts to modernize command-and-control capabilities following NATO members’ commitments to increase defense spending.
As allied forces deploy increasing numbers of drones and autonomous systems, procurement agencies are placing greater emphasis on interoperable software that supports multinational operations.
Unified Command Interface
Vegvisir’s platform is designed to bring information from drones, robotic vehicles, sensors, and conventional military platforms into a single operational picture, replacing the need to switch between multiple command applications during a mission.
By consolidating battlefield data into a single interface, the software enables commanders to monitor assets, coordinate missions, and make decisions more quickly.
It also incorporates AI-assisted target detection and decision-support tools that prioritize critical information and help reduce operator workload during operations involving multiple autonomous and conventional systems.
