The US Army has selected ATX Defense as one of eight companies participating in the Next-Gen Commercial Operations in the Defending Enclave (NCODE) program, an initiative aimed at strengthening cybersecurity across the defense industrial base.
NCODE is a five-year contract vehicle worth up to $49 million that focuses on helping defense suppliers comply with the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework, a growing challenge for many contractors, according to ATX Defense.
Growing concern over cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the defense supply chain has driven the Pentagon to tighten compliance requirements in recent years.
As a result, many future defense contracts will require companies to meet these cybersecurity standards before they can bid for or retain work involving sensitive government information.
Access to CMMC Certification
The US Army program will operate through the NCODE Marketplace, an online platform where approved vendors will offer cybersecurity and compliance services to defense contractors preparing for CMMC certification.
ATX Defense will provide access to its CMMC Space platform, which is designed to help companies manage the security and documentation requirements needed to achieve certification.
The cloud-based system is designed to help contractors manage security controls, documentation requirements, and other steps needed to achieve CMMC Level 2 certification, one of the standards required for handling Controlled Unclassified Information.
“We created CMMC Space because small businesses need someone in their corner who actually understands the problem from their side,” stated Shawn Kotoske, co-founder of ATX Defense.
The company said its platform, which is built on Google Cloud and Google Workspace infrastructure, has already been used by more than 70 defense contractors to achieve CMMC Level 2 certification.
