SMARTSHOOTER Scores First US Navy Contract for Anti-Drone Sights

Israeli firm SMARTSHOOTER has received a $1.8-million contract to deliver its SMASH 2000LE counter-drone fire control systems for the US Navy, marking the company’s first procurement award from the service.

The agreement expands the company’s footprint in the American defense market, following recent partnerships with the US Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force in response to increasing hostile autonomous systems in the sky.

Related activities to complete the latest order will be facilitated through the second half of 2026.

Progress of the contract will be coordinated with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, which oversees research, assessments, and development of the navy’s future surface combat solutions, while distribution of the equipment will be facilitated with Virginia-based Atlantic Diving Supply.

Addressing ‘Growing Operational Needs’

The SMASH 2000LE, also known as the SMASH 3000SA, is a lightweight fire control system that combines computer vision, artificial intelligence, and target-tracking algorithms to improve engagement accuracy.

As the newest variant of the SMASH family, the 2000LE adds networking capabilities that allow operators to share information with squad-level systems, battle management networks, and other sensors on the battlefield.

The SMASH devices are designed for rifle-equipped troops and other precision shooting teams, improving their lethality against drones, ground systems, and other other low-flying aerial threats.

The technology is now commissioned into the Israeli Defense Forces and has been integrated onto a range of NATO-standard small arms.

“This latest award underscores the growing operational need for precise, reliable, and field-ready solutions to address the drone threat.”
