Greece has signed an agreement with Shield AI to expand the Hellenic Army’s V-BAT drone fleet in support of maritime operations.
Currently deployed in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) roles, the vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) platforms are expected to help the country maintain persistent coverage over naval areas where conventional assets face operational limitations.
The agreement is said to be long-term, with Shield AI also planning to establish an office in Athens to provide closer support to regional partners and allied industry.
