BAE Systems has signed a licensing agreement with a strategic defense partner to produce its L119 105mm Light Gun in Ukraine.
Under the agreement, the partner will receive BAE Systems’ technical data and engineering support to manufacture an initial gun for testing.
The collaboration will also support the development of an L119 variant tailored to the operational requirements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which already operates around 36 of the guns donated by the UK.
Designed by BAE Systems, the L119 is a lightweight, towed 105mm artillery system known for its mobility, reliability, and combat-proven performance.
Long-Term Support for Ukraine
The deal builds on BAE Systems’ long-term support for Kyiv and its efforts to strengthen the country’s domestic defense industry, including the recent delivery of the first 105mm and 155mm gun barrel forgings.
Those initial forgings will validate Ukraine’s manufacturing processes ahead of full-scale integration and production.
