South Korea Introduces National Standards for Military Drones

South Korea has introduced three defense standards for military drones, creating a common framework for testing, evaluating, and classifying systems developed by domestic manufacturers.

The standards establish baseline performance and testing requirements for drones weighing up to 25 kilograms (55 pounds), while accounting for different operational roles.

The framework outlines methods for evaluating key flight characteristics, including maximum endurance, horizontal speed, hovering, autonomous route flight, emergency return, and obstacle detection.
