An AI accelerator designed to deliver real-time inference at the tactical edge has completed flight testing with the US Air Force.
Japan-based EdgeCortix said its SAKURA-II platform demonstrated in-flight AI processing during a large-force exercise and received a Defense Innovation Unit Success Memorandum after meeting all prototype project objectives.
The system was integrated into a prototype Advanced Intelligent Gateway System to enable resilient, multi-domain battlefield connectivity across joint and coalition forces.
