Alabama defense company Astrion has secured a position on a $349.4-million US Navy framework contract to provide broad support services for unmanned maritime systems.
Under the deal, the company will deliver technical support across the full lifecycle of autonomous naval platforms, including design, integration, deployment, operation, and sustainment.
A Pentagon announcement specified that work will run through May 2034, with activities centered in San Diego, California.
Astrion noted that it will leverage its know-how in separate engagements with the military to advance the latest initiative.
The firm is already part of the navy’s ongoing Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel program, where it oversees fielding and maintenance of the Seahawk and Sea Hunter drone boats, which both serve as testbeds to collect real-world data in support of that effort.
